What is a Robux top-up?

A Robux top-up is when a seller adds Robux to your account for you. To do it, most sellers ask for your Roblox username, your password and sometimes your 2-step verification codes. Then they log in to your account from their own device and buy or move Robux into it.

That means a stranger has full control of your account while they do it. They can see your items, change your settings, or lock you out.

Some sellers say they only need your username. They use group payouts or game passes instead of logging in. That removes the password worry, but the Robux still comes from an outside seller, not from Roblox. "No password needed" doesn't mean "allowed".

Is a Robux top-up safe?

No. Roblox's Terms of Use say you must not share your login details with anyone except a parent or guardian. They also say that getting Robux any way other than through Roblox's own services makes the purchase void, and the account can be suspended or terminated.

So a login top-up breaks two rules at once. You share your password, and the Robux comes from outside Roblox.

The risks are real:

• Account takeover. Whoever has your password can change your email and lock you out.
• Moderation. Roblox can act on the account, from a temporary suspension to closing it for good.
• Lost Robux. A void purchase means the Robux you paid for may not stay on your account.

No seller can honestly promise that none of this will happen to you.

How does a Roblox gift card work?

A Roblox gift card is an official code that you redeem yourself at roblox.com/redeem. You never share your password, and the seller never touches your account. Roblox's terms list gift card redemption as a normal way to get Robux, so it follows the rules. It works on accounts made in Bangladesh too.

Roblox says every Roblox code can be redeemed worldwide, and the value converts to your account's currency. So a code bought here works the same as one bought in the US.

What if you already gave a seller your password?

Change your Roblox password straight away, then turn on 2-step verification so a stolen password alone can't get in. Check that the email and phone number on your account are still yours. Do this even if the seller delivered the Robux, because they may still have your login.

How do you spot a Robux scam?

Be careful with any offer that asks for your password, your 2-step codes or a payment with no shop behind it. Roblox says free Robux generators are scams built to steal accounts, so ignore every "free Robux" site and video.

Warning signs to watch for:

• "Send me your password and I'll add the Robux." That's a login top-up.
• "Give me your 2-step code." Nobody but you should ever see it.
• Prices far below everyone else. Cheap codes from strangers may already be used.
• Pay first in a chat, with no order page. You have no proof of what you bought.
